Show all events per contact

See everything that happened with a contact in one place: emails sent, deliverability and engagement events, as well as contact fields updates.

Preview text should not be followed by the email body

This is honestly extremely frustrating. When I define a custom preview text for an email, Mailtrap still lets email clients append the beginning of the email body right after it. The result looks messy and completely defeats the purpose of having a dedicated preview text. Brevo already handles this properly by automatically preventing the email body from appearing after the preview text. Mailtrap should do the same: when a preview text is defined, automatically add the necessary hidden padding so that only the preview text is displayed in the inbox preview. This should be handled by Mailtrap, not something users have to manually hack into every email template.

Set a limit on how many testing messages can each sandbox receive/hold

Allow administrators to set a testing message limit per sandbox, ensuring that each team assigned to a sandbox can only use up to the allocated limit for that specific sandbox. This would help prevent one team from exhausting the overall account limit and give administrators better control over how testing resources are distributed across multiple teams and sandboxes.

Rolling Delete for Sandboxes

We are on the 5m message plan but run into failed tests when our sandbox inbox hits the 1k message limit. This means someone has to go in there to clear the box and rerun the tests, costing cycle time. Rolling delete - once the inbox hits the 1k every new message deletes the oldest in the box. Set message expiration is another option. Set on the inbox, after x period messages expire and are deleted. Thanks y’all ✌️

Improve Automations Usability with an API

Instead of having to manually create automations, it would be very useful to be able to manage them through an API (using the MCP or CLI). Or at least be able to export and import JSON definitions.

API endpoint to trigger on-demand DNS re-check for a sending domain

Hi Mailtrap team, We're building a multi-tenant platform where each workspace configures its own sending domain through your Sending Domains API. After a user adds the DNS records, we'd like to give them immediate feedback on whether the domain is verified — ideally by triggering a DNS re-check on demand, the same way the "Re-check DNS Records" button does in your dashboard. We've gone through the available options and hit a wall: GET /api/accounts/{account_id}/sending_domains/{id} returns the last known status, but does not appear to trigger a fresh DNS check — the dns_verified_at timestamp and record statuses don't change on repeated calls. Your automatic re-check runs hourly, so a user who just added their records may have to wait up to an hour to see them pass. We couldn't find any re-check / re-verify endpoint in the public API, nor a webhook event for domain/DNS verification status changes. Our request: could you expose a public, token-authenticated endpoint to trigger an on-demand DNS re-check for a sending domain ? Alternatively, a webhook fired when a domain's verification status changes would also solve our use case. This would let us confirm a domain right after the user sets up DNS, instead of polling and waiting for the hourly cycle. Thanks a lot!

Show Category Timeline by Hourly

Currently, under "Email API/SMTP" → "Stats" → "Email Categories" → "Timeline", the data is displayed in a daily (date-based) format. Is it possible to add an hourly view as well, so that the statistics can be displayed on an hourly basis? Why is this feature needed? To monitor email sending frequency at a more granular level. The current daily timeline only shows aggregated totals per day, which makes it hard to see how volume is distributed within a day. An hourly view would let us track sending patterns and spot spikes as they happen. How do you intend to use it? We'd use it to monitor hourly sending frequency against our hourly limit, identify unusual bursts or peak-sending periods during the day, and better understand our sending behavior over time.

Simple Mobile View (remove sidebar)

We use Mailtrap to do software demos with an iPhone resolution sized browser window. This used to work great, however, you recently introduced a persistent left side navigation bar that we can’t collapse entirely. Please collapse this menu to hamburger menu when using mobile phone size browser resolution, or let us simply turn it off

Adding 'titles' to steps of the email automation flows

When creating email automation flows, it would help if steps could be named, so you get a clear overview what is happening where. Currently, when using multiple conditional splits, for instance, it get’s cluttered, and you have to click on every split, to see what is happening.

EU Infrastructure — Data Residency in Europe

We're working on enabling EU data residency for Mailtrap. This will allow customers to store their data within the European Union.

Mobile and Tablet size setting

As part of QA testing, we often need to be able to test specific px widths. e.g. 360px minimum to cover testing on Samsung devices that aren’t the Ultra variants. Being able to set the default mobile and tablet width/length would greatly improve testing functionality.

Password complexity

Increase the complexity of passwords to connect with Mailtrap integration.

Integration tests should not reuse event_id across types

All of the sample payloads use the same event IDs, so you can’t test different types if your service is aware of duplicate event IDs. It’d be nice if they were randomized when you switched tabs altogether so you can also test multiple events of each type.

Resend campaigns to unopened recipients

I think it would be great if it was possible to resend campaigns to contacts who did not open the email. Thank you!

WordPress RSS post

In Brevo, I can ask the service to automatically generate a newsletter from the last WordPress post(s). It is a kind of automation that creates a message using a given template that has support for getting the RSS fields, subject, date, excerpt, etc,... I have been using this in Brevo for a decade, and in Mailchimp as well. Every week, I get my newsletter sent with my blog's latest updates. That could maybe also used for other kind of RSS files as well.

Email to List

The possibility to create an email address linked to a template and to a list, and when you send to that email, the message is sent to the list with that template. Mailjet has a similar feature. As an independent software developer, I like to automate and get things done as quickly as possible. The possibility, for example, of sending an update notification to a group of customers with my regular mail reader is a plus. Mailtrap would apply the template to my message and deliver it on my behalf.
