Detect 🤖 bot opens/clicks
Security scanners and bots inflate open/click metrics. Detect likely bot activity and label it, so it can be excluded from engagement metrics. Provide that info in webhooks payload.
Sandbox webhooks
Sandbox users can’t programmatically react to test messages, only to retrieve them via API. Emit webhooks for emails received in sandboxes with email payloads.
Templates: versioning and history
Template edits are risky without history and rollback. Introduce versioning with diff/restore and version labels.
Sandbox UI: bulk delete emails
Deleting emails one by one in Sandbox is time‑consuming. Add bulk deletion with multi‑select and confirmation.
Templates: MJML support
Designing responsive emails is harder without MJML tooling. Add MJML support in the template editor and API (compile to HTML).
Suppressions: blocklist by recipient domain
Blocking addresses one by one is inefficient at domain scale. Allow domain‑level suppression (*example.com) in addition to per‑address blocks (user1@example.com, user2@example.com).
Resend campaigns to unopened recipients
I think it would be great if it was possible to resend campaigns to contacts who did not open the email. Thank you!
API endpoint to trigger on-demand DNS re-check for a sending domain
Hi Mailtrap team, We're building a multi-tenant platform where each workspace configures its own sending domain through your Sending Domains API. After a user adds the DNS records, we'd like to give them immediate feedback on whether the domain is verified — ideally by triggering a DNS re-check on demand, the same way the "Re-check DNS Records" button does in your dashboard. We've gone through the available options and hit a wall: GET /api/accounts/{account_id}/sending_domains/{id} returns the last known status, but does not appear to trigger a fresh DNS check — the dns_verified_at timestamp and record statuses don't change on repeated calls. Your automatic re-check runs hourly, so a user who just added their records may have to wait up to an hour to see them pass. We couldn't find any re-check / re-verify endpoint in the public API, nor a webhook event for domain/DNS verification status changes. Our request: could you expose a public, token-authenticated endpoint to trigger an on-demand DNS re-check for a sending domain ? Alternatively, a webhook fired when a domain's verification status changes would also solve our use case. This would let us confirm a domain right after the user sets up DNS, instead of polling and waiting for the hourly cycle. Thanks a lot!
Include Country in Segment options
Be able to create a segment list based on country.
Rolling Delete for Sandboxes
We are on the 5m message plan but run into failed tests when our sandbox inbox hits the 1k message limit. This means someone has to go in there to clear the box and rerun the tests, costing cycle time. Rolling delete - once the inbox hits the 1k every new message deletes the oldest in the box. Set message expiration is another option. Set on the inbox, after x period messages expire and are deleted. Thanks y’all ✌️

Campaigns: A/B testing
It’s hard to optimize subject/content without experiments. Support A/B testing in Campaigns with traffic split and winner selection.
Templates sorting and ordering
Allow manual reordering and sorting options in the templates dashboard.
Remote MCP Server for Mailtrap
Not all tools support local MCP servers (incl. Mailtrap local MCP server). More and more tools support remote MCP servers. Provide a remote MCP server so MCP‑enabled tools can interact with Mailtrap.
Customizable Unsubscribe Page
Allow customers to customize the unsubscribe page, including language, branding/logo, and footer content, so the experience matches their brand and recipients’ language
Email to List
The possibility to create an email address linked to a template and to a list, and when you send to that email, the message is sent to the list with that template. Mailjet has a similar feature. As an independent software developer, I like to automate and get things done as quickly as possible. The possibility, for example, of sending an update notification to a group of customers with my regular mail reader is a plus. Mailtrap would apply the template to my message and deliver it on my behalf.
Organize email templates into categories
Contacts UI improvements
Honestly the UI just needs to be standardized for the pages dealing with Contacts, here’s some priority-ordered suggestions. Standard table components with hideable columns & user-selectable filters & sorts are widely available, it’d make things much easier if the table views used something like that. Single-Contact view: show Created At & datetime timezone /contacts/{id}/details already shows Last Updated but timezone is unclear Created At is available via API, just needs display Segments view: add filters, columns, actions, & pagination /contacts/segments/{id} add filters for Last Updated & Subscribed add Subscribed column add Download action add pagination
Saved Blocks on account level
Saved Blocks should be stored in the account, not in browser cookies.

Unsubscribe Groups (category‑based opt‑out)
Let subscribers choose what types of emails they receive instead of unsubscribing completely. Create custom preference centers with multiple subscription categories. Reduce total unsubscribes while respecting user preferences and maintaining compliance.
EU Infrastructure — Data Residency in Europe
We're working on enabling EU data residency for Mailtrap. This will allow customers to store their data within the European Union.
Billing: annual plans for Email API/SMTP
Self‑serve annual billing isn’t available for Email API/SMTP. Add yearly plans with clear overage handling.

Inbound email parsing
Accept and parse incoming emails for your domains, and deliver their content via webhooks.
UI: Dark mode
Add a dark theme with a toggle and system preference support.
API: Email logs
Email logs are only accessible via UI. Provide API endpoints to search and retrieve email logs.
Multi-account organizations
Manage multiple Mailtrap accounts under one organization umbrella. Centralized billing, unified user management, and granular permissions across all accounts. Switch between accounts(projects) seamlessly while maintaining separate environments for different teams or clients.
Update navigation: API/SMTP code samples
Email API/SMTP code samples (credentials) are buried under Domains and hard to find/copy. Surface API/SMTP credentials with clearer navigation.
Campaigns: Throttling
Control email delivery speed for large campaigns to avoid overwhelming recipient servers and improve deliverability.
Collapsible navigation menu
Left menu consumes horizontal space on smaller screens. Make the left navigation collapsible to an icon‑only rail; remember state.
Terraform provider for Mailtrap
Allow infrastructure teams to manage Mailtrap via IaC. Publish an official Terraform provider for common resources.
Official Go SDK
Go developers lack an official client. Publish an official Go SDK covering Email API/SMTP and Sandbox.
template C#
the SMTP client is a disposable yet in the template neither ‘client.dispose()’ or ‘using var client = …’ is used which can cause resource leaks. Developers with little to no knowledge might not know about this so consider updating the C# template to ensure best practices are used.
