Mailtrap has launched Recipient Tracking Opt-Outs, which helps you stay compliant with legal requirements, such as, for example, CNIL, which requires you to provide French recipients of your marketing emails an easy way to opt out of open-tracking pixels.
How it works:
Enable it per sending domain – Turn it on for the domains you use in regulated regions, and leave it off elsewhere.
An opt-out link is added to every email – Once enabled, every outbound email through that domain gets an "opt out of tracking" link, distinct from the unsubscribe link.
Recipients confirm on a Mailtrap-hosted page – Clicking the link takes recipients to a confirmation page. From that moment on, no open- or click-tracking fires in past and future emails to that address.
Every opt-out is visible in-app – Track who opted out under Suppressions → Tracking Opt-Outs.
